Vision Quest Equine Enterprises has been operating in Ventura County since February of 1999. Trainer and founder Tenna Hansen is dedicated to helping horses and their owners find the most effective lines of communication between horse and rider. Utilizing classical dressage and natural horsemanship techniques, "lightness" and "harmony" between horse and rider are emphasized.

Effective Communication is the key to good riding and any harsh aids are discouraged. Our experience has shown us that horses are happy for interaction with humans and very willing to comply with any of our requests so long as they are physically sound and understand what it is that we are asking of them. We work as a team with our ferriers, chiropractor, and massage therapist to keep our equine partners in top physical form.

Our philosophy is that once we understand the principals of classical dressage (balance, suppleness, and rhythm), we then apply the aids from the basics to the specialized movements of F.E.I. in the same manner, varying only in the matter of the degree, to get desired results. Because dressage is the core of basic training, horse and rider can utilize it and transition into any discipline. We are happy to start horses under saddle so long as the owner is willing to commit to a process that may last up to 1 year. We will also custom tailor training and lesson programs that will take you and your horse as far as you wish to go (both personally and competitively). Our motto is "Happy Horses, Happy People".
